Hey, I'm Dan and I'm Emily. And you're listening to a My Kajiggers mini episode.

Hey, everybody, welcome back to My Kajiggers. Hey, guys. It's been so long. Yeah, it's been a while. It's almost like something's been going on. I can't figure out why. Yeah, I can't put my nose on it now.

We took a break from podcasting just because of the ongoing corona virus crisis. We could have done it play zoom, but it would have been a pain.

Yeah, but, you know, here we are and we've got a mini episode for you guys today and we're just going to catch up.

Yeah, we're going to catch up with you listeners or catch up with each other. We haven't really seen each other for almost two months. So we're finally back in the same room about six feet apart. We promise we're social distancing. Yeah. As far as Emily knows, I haven't coughed on any of her equipment.

Whatever. We're back. We got TAPI Toes dogs with us. We've got a cat running around. It's like old times.

These animals are being a little bit crazy today. So you might hear them. Oh, I'm sure. And there they go. Starting to fight.

But yeah. So we're lucky. We've both been working, still getting paychecks. But I keep yourself sane.

I'm not. So my job consists of me and one other person doing the job at our place of business. And we have been rotating days. And so every other day it's me and the other person. And so I would go from having three or four days off to like to like every Monday, Wednesday, Friday, one week and Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday, the next week. And luckily, like, well, it's been really nice is that they have been paying us full 40 hour weeks, which I can't say for a lot of people, unfortunately, but that has been nice for us. But in my downtime, I have Laeter I have watched more TV in the last two months than I have in the last three years that I have been moved out of my house.

Yeah, it's I mean, I'm working retail. People there for a while lost their damn minds. Oh, yeah. I was stressed for weeks to the point where I wasn't even watching TV or I didn't feel like playing video games for the longest time. All I would do for entertainment was listen to audiobooks.

I have listened to a lot of my podcasts, but I have and I've done a lot of drinking and quarantine. I haven't. You don't want some vodka? Vodka.

There'd been days, but no, but yeah, they're for a good while. I was worried about the virus for a while, but it was mostly just stress and depression and the depression on my side.

Got back to being in a customer service job during the quarantine has been extremely stressful and I don't think people understand that who don't work in that situation. And because we have to be there for people in your situation, people are still coming into your establishment. Yeah.

And being that nothing else was open, my life there for maybe a month and a half was just get up, go to work, be stressed all day, go home, repeat and like. No recreation.

Yeah. Our doors have been closed for the entire two months and starting Monday, June 1st, we go back to full time and I'm ready to see what kind of shit show happens. So where I work, we have implemented the social distancing guidelines and we've got ski's guards. We had a local business come in and they put up sneeze guards with glass. And then on my desk, we're gonna have it in a couple other places in the area or have it and it shuts. We're wondering if people are actually going to follow and how many people because I mean, they are we're talking about like having somebody standing at the door trying to be like, hey, practice social listin thing. We've got places marked on the floors, on the inside to keep people six feet away. We only have two stations open.

And it's I'm just over here shaking my head because I've been dealing with this. Yeah. As long enough. I'm like, no, they will not be your guy.

It's I mean, if they can't, then, I mean, drastic measures will be taken. And I know that my bosses have been serious. I have actually been taking less serious about keeping us safe, which is really nice. And so I hope it works out. I'm lucky because I technically have my own little quote unquote office area here. But like, I wish I had a door that way. Like if people needed to come see me, I could let them in, rather I'm standing in my doorway or you could just lock it. That too. I would love to have a door I could lock.

How great would it be if you could be windows work from home?

I don't know if I. Could actually work from home. I've never been like you. Be nice. But like this. This shit right here. This. This has been what does. Driving me up a goddamn wall.

Yeah. Emily is pointing to her dogs fighting. If it's not coming across on the mikes yet.

Bye. He talks all the time how he wants to quote unquote. He wants to be a housewife. And like we've talked about it, like if I made a lot more money, he could I would really like him because I could never be a stay at home. I can never be a stay at home mom. And like, I'm not trying to bash on them. Stay at home moms are the real winners. Like, kudos to them. I just don't think I could do it myself because I'm too much of an out like a go where I like to be out there.

I don't think I could do a leg work from home thing because I would have the hardest time getting started. Once I get started on working like editing the podcast, then I'm zoned in and I just keep working and lose track of time. The issue is getting started, but yeah, that's all. Work's been going for us. Crazy. Yeah. So you say you've been watching a lot TV.

Oh, you can watch it. I'm a little we I guess you can say I, I've been watching a lot of anime and so we have watched a show called Black Clover. We watch my hair accademia. I'm well more halfway through bleach and Mikey's is almost done with bleach. I picked up a Niassa again for like the 18th time, because a new season is coming out. For all you other nerds out there. What else? Oh, they put Avatar our Last Airbender back on Netflix. They're not back on. Put it on Netflix. And so I've been shit out that show and the movie's better. Fuck you.

Okay. I've only watch, like, part of the first season of Avatar and even I know that movie is not there. Is there a few things that movie is better than.

I haven't even watched it and I refuse to watch it because I'm not going to ruin my good memories of a good show.

Oh, man. I remember cause at the time that we came out, I was running a Web site where I read movie scripts and then I reviewed the movie and compared them. And I was following the news on like reshoots for the Avatar movie. And there's a part that in the end where the bad guys kill this fish is like some mystical importance. Yes, but apparently the version they originally shot, they take the fish, put in a bag and the bad guy just beaten to death in the bag. And instead of being horrified, audiences like test audiences were laughing so hard that the studio was like, we got to refute this.

Okay. So. And have you seen any of the show?

I saw a half the first season right before the movie came out.

So Yen and Yang is the fishes and they are the balance of the night and like, well, you know, good and evil. And without one, the other is lost.

And so in the TV show, they pick up the moon spirit fish and it puts it in the bag and it basically destroys the moon's like the water benders lose all their power and like the fire benders, because as the fire nation that came invaded the northern water tribe and they become more powerful. And so, like, they're taking it down. And he actually did have it in a bag and then he released it. And then in like a split second, he took it. He burned the fish in the show. So, like, he intentionally killed the fish with his powers. But he didn't beat it at the back. He all like he going to kill it in the bag. But like, he was going to beat it to death. Like, I don't think it would take much to kill a fish in a bag.

Yeah. Given that those reports came out before the movie, I'm inclined to believe that scene actually was shot. And I want to see it someday. If it was that funny, that audience were just laughing at it and it made them reshoot it. I want to find this footage and see it. I started to binge watch The Expanse on Amazon again. Yeah. And I got through the first season and realized I've been putting off reading the books. And I'm Kelly Game of Thrones. I was tired of waiting for the next season of the show, so I don't have the mental energy to sit down and read books right now. So I'm going to start listening to them on Audible. And I've caught up with the TV show and now I'm into what will be the next season. And I've really killed like hundreds of hours now listening to the Expanse series. And you guys can listen to the audio book of your choice on audible dot com. You go and use promo code My Kajiggers.

I wish you will get jack shit because we don't have a sports service.

Could you imagine if we kick it if we got sponsored by Audible. Yeah, obviously. I mean, I've had Prime for a long time, but I've never used audible because I mean, I listen to a podcast. I don't know what the difference will be listening to a book, but like I can't bring myself to. I think it's just because I want to sit down with a good book.

I really do like sitting down to read a book, but I was just not there to sit down and put effort into my entertainment. Yeah, it was nice because the thing I love about the TV show, now that I've gone back and listened to the source material, they've really stayed so true to the books that I can very easily see all the actors from the show in these roles and even the dialogue they love. They lifted dialogue straight from the books to put in the show. I know that scene. So like listening to it, it really is almost kind of like reading a really good book where you forget how you're taking it in and it just becomes like a movie in your mind. Yeah, playing games. While I've been on quarantine, I've done some swimming.

I'm really excited because there is a new it's not an expansion, but it's like eight steps. It's like a pack that's coming up. Semmes is called Eco Life and Time. It's that's going to be really interesting because you can play it as it can. If you do certain things, it'll change the way the world is. And so, like, it can either get better or worse and you can follow it's called like the eco footprint and you can follow it. And like, if you do certain things, I'll help make this, you know, like three. Areas you can live in. Like, there is a place that is like really good. There's one in the neutral zone. There is like an industrial site that's bad and you can pick places and like you like your SIM and like the actions that you take. It's almost like a butterfly effect.

It's Khalik Karma system in the game.

Yeah. If you don't do this, then this is how this is going to be the chain reaction. So I'm kind of interested to see that. And there's a huge update that's coming in a couple days that's adding new step in and life changing like build items that costs like hundreds of dollars that are going to be free.

So that's been exciting. Belike, I feel like a fucking weird, like weird nerd. I know. I was so bored one day because I had five days off in a row one week. And it's just like, what the fuck am I going to do with myself? Mendelow The stupid ass game and it's not is kind of a Candy Crush game, but like Eric used to play Crunch and what is it? Hey, it's called home design.

And you can you basically, like, put blocks together and in so many turns you earn money from it and then you can renovate this person's like room. They're wanting to. And I hate myself, but I am so addicted to the stupid fucking game.

Just hearing you describe it, I can see how it becomes addicting because you're like, oh, if I just play a little bit more, I can earn more foys and work on these rumors and more only.

And then like they do daily challenges where you can if you complete the a challenge, then you can have like you have like five laps and you go after them, then you have to wait. They have like these challenges or you complete the room, they give you an hour free life. And then she's like, motherfucker, I have to play this game for another hour to bill as much money as possible. So it's like a vicious cycle game. And I hate myself. I downloaded it the like. It's also been like keeping my sanity almost like it's a I mean, it's a mentality game. Like most of the levels you have to do it like 20 moves or less. And they're asking for like a hundred of this color and one hundred of this color and also break all these boards and drop these plants down. It's difficult. It really is a difficult game. But like, I can't blame you there.

I think a lot of just for everybody getting through this has been just checking out. Finding any entertainment takes your mind off of like you're stuck in your house or you're not stuck in your house, but you risk getting sick every day, dealing with people just, you know.

I'm surprised that you didn't become a temp Florida again.

Yeah. A few years ago, I became briefly addicted to Empire. It was a Farmville game or Farmville style game. But you just become a pot grower.

That is seriously like the most brilliant name though him pire.

There's a way I doubt it. I saw the App Store. I'm like, that's too funny to not give it a try. It wasn't bad. This is just as addictive as every other one of those types of games.

I remember getting a message from U.S. as I have been playing this game for X amount of hours of a problem.

I think I also did that one year on my birthday, just first thing in the morning. I randomly downloaded this app that was pretty much SIM City for your phone. And there's one of those where you just pay once. No in-game purchases. I love those types of games. We need more of those. Just let me buy the game and let me enjoy it to its fullest. I spent probably from 10 a.m. that morning to maybe 11:00 p.m. that night playing the game, getting my city as far as it could progressed. Like basically finishing the game, restarting a new city with different votes. And I think after that day is like this app is going to become a problem. And I just uninstalled it from my phone.

See, I mean, you least noticed your problem. I'm still playing this fucking game like I have been playing this game for about two weeks now. And I was playing it before you came over. And it's it felt like you Jones in the player. I now know I have been doing like I need to distance myself because I've been on my tablet way too much and I just I need a break. I can't like I can't wait to go back to work. So I'm not sitting at home just staring on my body. I have nothing else to do. And I hate it. I don't like I like being my phone. I like scrolling through social media every once in a while when it's not just a giant fucking dumpster fire, but like, I don't want to be on my phone.

Yeah. And then hours later you're like, I know my phone, that law. And why is it this late in the day?

All right. And take talk. Yes. See, I'm a vine person and you're up with Vine. And I mean, I'm not that old, but like I was there for. The rise and fall of Binde and so like Vinu always be number one. But I have caught myself on tech talk for hours. I need to am I doing with my life.

I'm a recovering tock addict at this point, like I got on it right before the Corona virus started, and then I suddenly had nothing better to do with my time. And I spent hours watching a capuchin monkey play with slime.

What are you for real? Yeah.

I'm pretty sure if anybody wants to check this out, I'm pretty sure it's at Getlin Ray.

I love it. I just like watching. There's like some of the dumb challenges that are there out there, like the dancing ones. But I've seen some I will scream, laugh to anything that is a an animal video that is just dumb dogs. Hi, love dog videos. One of my favorite dog videos is that it's this lap. It's a yellow lab. He's in the pond and he starts. I don't know if he's choking on water, but he said it's gone. You're welcome. And he does that for a good ten minutes.

And they're like, are you okay?

And then you're Sprunt with another one. And it's like the most human sound a dog can make. He's like getting out of the water, making this in. I'm into ears from watching that dog.

Yeah, I know. I've sent you animal ones. Yeah. I don't really go for, like, the challenges or like the dancing things. I very much love the short form comedy.

I like the ones there's a guy on there and he's like self-deprecating and like you and me, he ran on himself. But like he really plays on his depression and sadness and makes jokes out of it. It's just like how I felt that.

And it's also funny at the same time, I've been working real hard to not get on top because, like you said, you can spend hours on there. And it seems like you've got to watch three videos, which are not that long anyway, I guess.

I mean, it takes you away from reality at least.

But still, I think because our showed so short, that's why it's so easy.

Spent a long can you just keep scroll and scroll on and then if you find a good one you just sit there and re watch it.

I love Hayley and Kendra. There has been like this lesbian couple that play quite often. It's just bad pickup lines that want to play offensive.

I like when she does it. Haley, I think Haley is the one that does the Yeah. Jokes. Yeah. And because there. Aren't they. Are they married. No, they're engaged. OK. I can't remember if they're married yet or not.

I feel like I know way too much about their personal lives. I love them though. Twenty second videos.

But Haley is usually the one recording and she's always making like bad jokes. Will have when she makes really inappropriate ones in public. And seeing Kendra's reaction because she is wide eyed, mouth agape and she's like. Right.

People heard that they are so good. They have like the sweetest relationship, at least that you can see. Yeah. And every time I see one of their videos on my bad relationship going, yes, they are so cute. Yeah. But yeah, we were talking about video games. What I'm excited about and I've preordered Tony Hawkes, pro skater, wanting to steal.

I am so Tony out pro skater, too, will always be my favorite game.

I don't think I ever played too, but I had the first one for Nintendo 64 and I just spent so many hours.

I still have Tony Hawk persecutor two for the original PlayStation. It's in my closet right now. And if my PlayStation actually like my PlayStation and PlayStation two still work, but the memory card slots don't. And so, like, I can't play things unless I don't want to save it and I'm not wasting all my hardware and such. I know. I want to see if I can take it to somebody, at least the PlayStation two and see it like it's just the card reader or it's like something endlessness stuff because they both work perfectly. It's weird that just that part wouldn't work. But I'm so excited because not only have they remastered it, they changed the players into their adult forms even I mean, they were adults then, but like, they've updated the characters when they look like that. Yeah, I know a couple characters look like they look. Now let's go. And they posted a picture of all of them together. And that is really cool. That's neat. And I'm so excited. And I asked Mikey if we could get it because it isn't only coming out on PlayStation. Not sure because we give my our PlayStation to my cousin, so we only have the 360 now, not 360. We have the X box one, the 360.

So, like, I hope because I want it so bad, I don't preorder many games, mostly because I don't have that much time to play games. But I just have so many great memories. And the fact that they've kept the original maps and that was the best part that's sold it to me was seeing the footage and be like, I know I know that school. I know that ramp, that table you can grind on. And like, I want this back in my life. Yes. Coming out of my depression slump during Korona. I started playing Jet, I fall in order. It was just kind of an impulse purchase because I was in need of anything.

Speaking of impulse purchases. Dan, do you want to tell our listeners what you bought? I guess on Life Savers, on order. I love it.

They won't be here for a while. One's probably going to be like three or four weeks. And then I'm waiting like two more months on a couple others. But I'm looking forward to. They're metal replicas and they're pretty cool off.

And the one the one big one that you got.

You can change the colors on and you can change colors on all of them.

Oh, are all of them. That's awesome. They have sound and you can take the, like, blade out and put them on display. The one I'm going to get soonest is a Darth Maul replica that you can actually split in half to two separate light series. I'm really looking forward to that one, but yeah. Jennifer on order, I guess you could say I got addicted to it for like two weeks. I all my free time after work just went home and I found all of the hidden chests throughout the game. And I actually complete the story mode, which is rare for me at any game with Open World. My close friends know that I have this problem with overworld games where I just screw around, enjoy in the open world and living my own life in it rather than actually completing any of the missions I'm supposed to like red dead. Yes, one of my co-workers just is increasingly annoyed at me because I just I'm giving close to the end of red dead. I just won't finish it. I didn't finish Red Dead Redemption on PlayStation three, and I'm not even ever gonna try to finish Red Dead Redemption, too. I just I got far enough to have free reign of the countryside, and I just go around robbing people and that boring that game.

I like watching people play that game because it's just people are so stupid when they play and it's so fun.

Well, that and it's relaxing to me because if you're not trying to get a story done, I can just throw on a podcast and just ride around for hours, maybe stop and haunt a little bit. Maybe rob some people maybe just explore the, like, outer regions of the map and find hidden things that I did not know were in the game and aren't part of the story. They're only there for people like me who like to explore that game has a lot of detail.

Yes. Like they did such a good job with this game.

The fact that your hair grows and you have to shave and go get haircuts. That's cool.

When does the second last us come out?

I'm not sure that's another game. The last last of us is another game that the same co-worker is upset with me over because I am like right at the end of the game. And I just lost interest and never went back.

I like I'm not very ordinated to play Moakes video games like my brain to hand like compatibility just doesn't work or that like I don't have the reaction time. And maybe if I played more of probably would be better. But like, I can't like I can't sit down. Like when I played PlayStation. It was Spyro and Crash Bandicoot. So there's that. But like, I like watching people play video games.

And I would watch my EA play a couple of his video games and that was one that I didn't get a chance to watch. And I want to see because I know the storyline is so good. And then. But the second one, I just can't wait to come up and I know it's going to be really good. And I mean, the last few years, love, like most games have been developed so nicely, like. Two games that we played well in the middle of playing one until dawn, Michy has finished. I keep stirring that and I never get anywhere. I know there's so many outcomes, like I want to see every single outcome of that game. Yeah. But then we started playing Detroit. And. I mean, we will we're only just. A little bit like a like two percent through. And it's. It's crazy because, I mean, you're playing as a humanoid. Robot finger. Yeah, poohs. So for people who don't like Detroit is basically these robots start. I don't know what is happening to them, but they're becoming some are becoming human. Cadging like they're they're catching the fields. They are starting to feel pain and sadness and happiness, and we don't like. I mean, obviously like to the game, you'll figure out why. But I'm hoping I don't. I really don't know. But, I mean, it starts out I mean, you're bouncing through different characters. There's several different plays you'll have, but like even only a little bit. That was really fun to play.

Yeah. I haven't played that game, but I know which one you're talking about. Yeah. Going forward, just as we slowly come out of this like weird dream state of corona virus and everything starts opening up slowly. What are you looking forward to most?

I mean, for me personally, we'll only thing it really has impacted is my ability to work and both my jobs, which sucks. So I'm really excited to get back to working at the bar. I miss my people. I'm not going to lie. I miss making the money that I made. But I'm just I know everybody's trying to get back to normal, but we have to do it as safely as possible. And I think it also just kind of like it breaks my heart because we I didn't get to finish this dance season. So I'm hoping that summer classes happen. And then by the fall, we're back to normal on regular class time because it sucks because this was my first recital back from my knee surgery.

And it sucks.

But we have to do what we have to do and make the best situation out of the worst.

Yeah, I think that's really important. Is that even those stuffs opening up? People still take it seriously and don't just be stupid. Like, very recently with my boreal day, you saw people going and just cramming. Oh, my God.

The Lake and the Lake of the Ozarks. Oh, my gosh.

Why? Just it's not like an all clear. Just. I'm not sure if we should ever go back to completely the way things were before. Like there probably a lot of unnecessary contact we had and we got to find that new balance.

But I do have a message for you guys. A lot of businesses are opening back up and please respect their rules. They're already having a tough enough time with everything that is happening and they're stressed and your stress. But please be respectful and even to the businesses that are open now that have been open, still be respectful. They have rules in place, and if their rules don't get followed, they can feel the repercussions. So please, just be kind.

Yeah. And your safety measures, just if for no other reason than for the safety of workers like people in customer service, deal with so many people every day. And that just increases the odds of coming across that one. Yeah. So, yeah, it'd be nice if people just follow safety guidelines. You know, keep back six feet. Don't get in a nice personal space. Yeah. Maybe be nice and wear a mask.

And I mean, we can't force that upon people. But if anything, please just keep the social distancing. It's it's for our safety. Ask our service workers and for years.

Yeah. I'm looking forward to just movie theaters opening back up. Just entertainment in general. There's movies I wanted to see that she'd been al- already like James Bond. That was coming up very quickly after the last time we recorded in March. I was. Everything happened so quickly. I didn't even get to propose to you. The like. Hey, let's do Casino Royale by guest.

Oh, yeah. The James Bond.

That's something we should do as a James Bond movies at the same time, as much as I want to see movies. I think it would feel very weird. And it will when theaters open up to be in that kind of environment again. They're not going to open up at full capacity, but even then, it's just gonna be weird sitting in the same room with that close proximity. It's going to be a change. And last year we started this thing of like we just start hanging out at the local winery and who knows what's going to happen with that this summer.

Yeah, I think I mean, for the winery itself, it's outside, which has been nice. But like and I know they're gonna try and get the guidelines as best as possible, but I guess it's something in time and growing and understanding. We will figure it out.

Yeah, I think we'll probably end up closer to the old normal than the new normal we've found. But it's gonna is gonna be a weird balance.

Yeah, it's definitely going to take time. I don't expect things to be normal for Parly till next summer.

I think that's going to wrap it up for this special Corona Virus Catch-Up episode. We'll catch you in a couple weeks with a new episode and we'll be trying to get back in the swing of recording and talking movies and shit again.

Yeah, bitches. We're going to be playing by ear, though. Probably shorter episodes for a while. Cause honestly, I kind of forgot how to use our editing software.

It's been a couple months, but we're going to try and do the best we can for you guys.

Yeah. And, oh, I just want to put our special thanks to all of early new listeners we're getting from India. I don't know why you're listening to us, but thanks. Yet in the last couple months, we've gotten a lot of lessons from cities in India. So if you're still listening, thanks for flying our show. Thanks, everybody, for coming back and listen to the show. We'll catch you next time. Bye, Felicia. Kathleen.
